this scarf is pissing me off. my original pattern of a turquoise background with the variegated fair isle patter was fine but too detailed and time consuming. every other pattern I’ve tried over the past two days (damask pattern with turquoise background and variegated pattern, damask with variegated background and turquoise pattern, art nouveau pattern with turquoise background and variegated pattern, cable pattern with alternating stripes) is just not working. I know I have at least 1 skein of each in my stash so I may just have to do two separate scarves because holy fuck… how can these yarns go together in one pattern but not in any other?

Maybe I should just go back to the original pattern, but knit it flat instead of in the round?
